Theodore "Ted" Lee Eichem

Theodore “Ted” Lee Eichem, 45, a lifelong resident of Louisville, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at The Good Shepherd Hospice of Manhattan. Ted was born August 27, 1969 in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Lester W. and Maxine J. (Straub) Eichem. He attended Wamego Grade School and Wamego High School, graduating in the class of 1988. Most of his working career was in concrete construction and working with his dad on the family farm. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Flush, KS. Ted married Jeanna Chilcott in 1998, they later divorced. Ted was a “Jack of all trades”. He was a very good mechanic and enjoyed working on his friends cars. He also enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, playing on the co-rec softball team, helping his dad on their farm, playing cards and board games with family and friends. He was especially fond of his time with his daughter Joceline. Ted is survived by his daughter, Joceline Eichem, of Westmoreland, KS; his parents, Lester and Maxine Eichem, of Louisville, KS; two sisters; Vicki Ritchie (Charlie), of McFarland, KS, Martie Baker (Kevin) of Wamego, KS; and 7 nieces and nephews: Chuck, Bill, Michael, Renee, Mathew, Harrison, and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell Eichem in 2012. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A visitation for family and friends will be prior to the memorial service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the Ted Eichem Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
