Glenda Lea Peterson, 79, Wamego, Kansas passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Glenda was born June 2, 1936 in Beverly, Kansas, the daughter of Myrvin and Mildred (Michels) Kissick. She attended Ada High School in Ada, Kansas and Asbury School of Nursing in Salina, Kansas. She worked as a nurse for various hospitals at different levels and retired as a Regional Supervising Nurse for AT&T. Glenda was united in marriage with Don Peterson. He survives of the home. Glenda loved shopping, doing crafts, and traveling. Her biggest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren and family activities. She is also survived by two sons: Randy Peterson, Wamego, KS, and Monty Peterson, St. George, KS; a step-son: Joseph Peterson, Portland, OR; a sister: Karen Baehr, Greenville, SC; a brother-in-law: Bob Gebhart, Kansas City, KS; five grandchildren: Ryan Peterson, Audrey Peterson, Torrey Peterson, Kelsey Peterson, and Ben Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Marcy Gebhart; a daughter-in-law: Jane Peterson; and a brother-in-law: Ralph Baehr. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A visitation for family and friends will be prior to the memorial service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Wamego City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and St. Luke’s Hospice House, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547
