Donald "Bud" Rudean Keating

Donald “Bud” Rudean Keating, 86, Wamego, KS passed away peacefully Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, KS. On April 12, 1929 Bud was born the son of James and Margaret “Ada” (Higgins) Keating in Blaine, KS. Bud graduated high school in Blaine in 1947 and worked as a Parts Manager for John Deere for several years. He was united in marriage with Ruth Ann Toothaker on November 28, 1953 in Topeka, KS. Ruth preceded him in death on January 31, 2002 Bud was a member of the Moose Club, American Legion, and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council #2278 in Blaine. He is survived by two daughters: Debra Keating, and Patti Johnson (Rick), all of Wamego, KS; a family friend: John Gullion, Wamego, KS; three sisters: Mary Lou Finan, Topeka, KS, Hap Scott, Topeka, KS, and Bobbie Jordan (Joe), Parkville, MO; two grandchildren: Michael Johnson (Maggie), and Brandi Johnson, all of Wamego, KS; and three great-grandchildren: McKale Stockebrand, Easton Stockebrand, and Oscar Johnson, all of Wamego, KS. He is also preceded in death by a daughter: Jodi Keating; and four sisters: Nila Graf, Bea Feleay, Kelle Ray, and Margie Fox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church from 1:00-8:00 p.m. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m. with a Church Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. The family has suggested memorials to the Great-Grandchildren’s Education Fund, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
