Feryl Minda Mensch

Feryl Minda Mensch, 91, a lifelong resident of Wamego, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan, Kansas. Feryl was born on October 07, 1923. She is the daughter of Earl James Koenig and Mae (Craige) Koenig. She attended Wamego Elementary, Wamego High School and also graduated from Crums Beauty School of Manhattan. Feryl married Kenneth D. Mensch on May 14, 1946 in Atchison, Ks. He died November 17, 1992. Feryl worked at KSU Housing and Dining as an account for 12 years and also at Wamego Telephone as a telephone operator for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wamego, Keller Post 17 American Legion Auxiliary. Feryl enjoyed playing cards, listening to all types of music and doing crossword puzzles. She liked socializing with friends, going to family events and spending a lot of time with them. Survivors include a son: Rollin D. Mensch of Manhattan, Ks; grandson: Brian Mensch(Tina) of Riley, Ks.; four great-grandchildern: Toby, Abbigale, Jessica and Katy. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; two sisters: Lavina Cuttright and LoRee Walters. Graveside service will be Tuesday July 21, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Wamego City Cemetery, Wamego, Ks. Family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to service at Stewart Funeral Home.
