Cameron Jordan Poe, 29, of Wamego, KS, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at his home.
Cameron was born April 11, 1986 in Manhattan, KS, the son of Renzie M. Poe, III and Terri L. (Davidson) Poe. He graduated from Wamego High School in 2004, followed by attending Garden City Junior College and then Highland Community College. He had just enrolled and was ready to start school at Manhattan Area Technical College.
He was an outstanding athlete, especially in high school football and was a member of the Garden City Junior College team. He kept things organized and tidy. He loved listening to his music, but also appreciated his quiet time and winding down. He would do anything to help anybody, caring about people and animals having their needs.
Cameron is survived by his parents, Renzie Poe, III and wife Terri, of Wamego; his brother, Renzie Poe, IV, U.S. Air Force, Germany; a grandfather, Renzie Poe, Jr., of Manhattan, KS; his aunts and uncles: Kelvin and Cindy Poe, of Wamego, KS, Mike and Ann Davidson, of Hutchinson, KS, Theresa and Willie Stinson, of California, Janevelyn and Gerald Poe-Davis, of Manhattan, KS; and his cousins: Isaac, Kendall, Jasmine, Willie, Tanecia, Michelle, Amy, and Aaron.. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lula Poe, and John and Jean Davidson.
Funeral services for Cameron will be held at 10:30a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church of Wamego. Burial will follow in Wamego City Cemetery. He will lie in-state beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, where the family will greet friends during visitation from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Community Health Ministry-Wamego, to go toward helping children with needs, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
