Lloyd Frank Manthe, 81, Westmoreland, Kansas passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Lloyd was born on December 4, 1933 to Frank and Elsie (Kastner) Manthe in Olsburg, Kansas. He graduated high school from Olsburg and went on to work at Bayer Stone, Dillons and most notably Kansas State University as an animal care taker. He loved farming and anything related to farming, dogs, Kansas State Athletics and collected John Deere toy tractors. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and following professional athletes from Kansas.
He is survived by a sister: Susan (Ralph) Wagner, Gladstone, MO; six nieces: Mary (Loren) Abitz, Wheaton, KS, Betty Wapp, Topeka, KS, Diana (Tom) Floyd, Topeka, KS, and Phyllis (Mike) Simmons, Frankfort, KS, Kristine (Scott) Reiter, Kansas City, MO, KariAnne (Andy) Waterland, Smithville, MO; a nephew: Scott(Laura)Wagner, Kansas City, MO; and numerous great nieces and nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, LuEtta Wapp, and a nephew, Richard Wapp.
Funeral services for Lloyd will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Stewart Funeral Chapel of Westmoreland. Burial will follow at the Westmoreland Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Memorials are suggested to go to the Westy Community Care Home, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
