Elmer Woody, 81, formerly of Paxico died Saturday, April 4th, 2009, at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego.
Born on October 29, 1927 in Paxico, he was the son of B. Mabel and Peter Woody. Elmer graduated from Paxico High School and married June Jolly. The couple later divorced. He then married Mildred Marks. She preceded him in death on November 18, 1991. Elmer was a farmer/ stockman and was known by everyone as the “Egg Man” as he delivered fresh eggs all around the area for many years.
Elmer is survived by his companion of 14 years, Marzene Mee of Paxico and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his sister Irma Niedfeldt in 2007.
A memorial service will be held at Stewart Funeral Home Saturday April 11th at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Elmer’s name to the Valley Vista Resident’s Entertainment Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the funeral home P.O. Box 48, Wamego 66547.
