Olathe- Gordon “Earl” Bradshaw, 83, of Olathe, formerly of Westmoreland, was called to his heavenly home Monday afternoon, April 6th, 2009.
Born on June 23, 1925 in Westmoreland, Kansas, he was the son of Gordon and Ethel (Whearty) Bradshaw. Earl graduated from Westmoreland High School and soon joined the Merchant Marines. He proudly served his country during WWII. After his discharge, he was married to Margery “Eleanor” Gager on March 2, 1946. Eleanor preceded him in death on March 6, 2002 after 56 years of marriage.
Earl worked and retired as an insurance adjuster for Kansas Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Paola United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Olathe American Legion Post #153. He loved music, singing and playing his guitar. He passed on his love for music to his family and they will be honoring his memory by performing at his funeral.
He is survived by: his son, Roy Bradshaw and his wife Lu Ann of Flower Mound, TX; his daughter Karen Bishop of Overland Park, KS; his brother Donald Bradshaw of Phoenix, AZ; his eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his brother Dale and one grandchild.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday April 11th at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego with burial following in Westmoreland City Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
