Helen C. Fincke

Mrs. Helen Fincke, age 92, of Concord, MA, and formerly of Wamego, KS, went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2015. She was born February 8, 1923 in Wamego, Kansas to Raymond and Leafy Morton. Helen attended schools in Wamego where she graduated from Wamego High School in 1941. She graduated from Christ's Hospital in Topeka, Kansas in 1945. Helen was a registered nurse and was formerly employed at St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the Cadet's Nurses Corp. and a member of Christ 's Hospital Alumni Association for over fifty years. She was a long-time member of Community Christian Church, Kansas City, Missouri. Helen was married to Donald Fincke on July 2, 1955. They had enjoyed 56 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Leafy Morton, her sister Marjorie Morton Mattson and her brothers Raymond and Harold Morton. Helen leaves behind a son Kent Fincke (Julie) of St. Charles, MO. and a daughter Cynthia Overman (Bob) of Acton, MA. Grandchildren Olivia and Rebekah Fincke and Nate and Matthew Overman. She also leaves behind her sister Marilyn Hartke (Jerome) of Lancaster, MA, sister-in-law Normalee Morton of Abilene, KS and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at the Wamego City Cemetery at 11:00am on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Family and friends will gather at the Stewart Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to proceeding to the cemetery.
