Kenneth Austin Snapp, 84, Westmoreland, KS passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Westy Community Care Home.
On April 22, 1931, Kenny was born to James and Ada (Scritchfield) Snapp in rural Westmoreland, Kansas. Kenny grew up working on the farm and enjoyed riding horses. He was a member of the Westy Saddle Club and Westmoreland United Methodist Church. He was also a member and a board of director for the Kansas Polled Herford Association and a leader in the Lucky Leven 4-H Club. Kenny was united in marriage with Rita Taylor on June 24, 1951 at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. She survives of the home.
Kenny is also survived by a son: Jeffry (Susan) Snapp, Westmoreland, KS; a daughter: Joni (Eddie) Schmitz, Marysville, KS; six grandchildren: Crystal Richardson, Sammy Ralph, Cody Schmitz, Rebecca Butler, Jessi Roche, and Alli Snapp; two great-grandchildren: Sophia and David Richardson; a brother: Dale (Alta Marie) Snapp, Wamego, KS; and a sister: Helen Beashore, Edwardsville, KS.
He is preceded in death by a son, Wayne Snapp in 2003.
A memorial service for Kenny will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Antioch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Westy Community Care Home and Grace Hospice, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
