Jimmy John Wallace, 79, Wamego, KS passed away at his home Tuesday, May 3, 2016. On February 28, 1937, Jimmy was born to R.D. and Bonnie (Eitel) Wallace in Clovis, NM. Jimmy attended Clovis High School and went on to graduate from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Economics. He was a Golden Glove Boxer in New Mexico and also served in the Army. Jimmy was an animal lover, enjoyed watching college basketball and football, spending time with his family and watching cowboy movies. He was united in marriage with Jonelle Fox on November 22, 1980 in Kinsley, KS. She survives of the home. Jimmy is also survived by two sons: Jimmy (Donna), Overland Park, KS, and Matthew (Aricca), Manhattan, KS; a daughter: Lisa Wallace, Garden City, KS; five grandchildren: Mason and Marccus Wallace, Manhattan, KS, and Jessica, Sara, and Carrie Wallace, Overland Park, KS; and a sister-in-law: Doris Wallace, Clovis, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Kinsley, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Purple Power Animal Welfare Society, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
