View Memorial Slideshow Jessica Ann Brazzle, 27, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away peacefully after a long battle with an interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension, with her family by her side, Friday, May 6, 2016 at KU Medical Center of Kansas City. Jessica was born on June 25, 1988 in Manhattan, KS, the daughter of Rick and Brenda (Elder) Brazzle. Her positive attitude, strong faith, and family support, helped her get past many challenges she faced. She never felt sorry for herself and believed that “everything happens for a reason”. She has always been their “Miracle Child”. She attended schools in Wamego, graduated from Wamego High School in 2007, and attended Highland Community College – Wamego for a year. In 2010, she married Kurtis Dively. While she was married they enjoyed taking many trips across the country, later they settled in Arizona. They later divorced in 2015, and she returned home to her family. Jessica was also a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church of Wamego. Jessica worked in childcare for many years. She started by helping her mom at Brenda’s Day Care, at Brilliant Beginnings, and Junction City Pre-School. She also helped at the Wamego Presbyterian Church by running the weekly Sunday daycare. Jessica loved being with her family, and the time she spent with the day care children, and she also enjoyed her love for animals and especially her beloved puppy Sasha. She enjoyed making tie-blankets, and recording her memories through scrapbooking. Survivors include: her parents, Rick and Brenda Brazzle, Wamego, KS; one brother, Scott Brazzle, Dodge City, KS; her grandfather, John Brazzle, Wamego, KS; aunts and uncles: Jim and Julie Elder, Bob and Mary Kay Elder, Peggy and Phil Stultz, Jim and Sandy Brazzle, Suzanne and Allan Manly, all of Wamego, KS, Evelyn and Gary Fox, Topeka, KS, Carolyn and Joe Heptig, Winfield, KS, Connie and David Prockish, Louisville, KS, Donna and Tony Akin, Zeandale, KS, Viola and Jim Lee, Paola, KS, Doris and Leonard Mottern, Pennsylvania, Diana DeBoer, Colorado Springs; numerous cousins, and her close canine companion, Sasha. She was preceded in death by three grandparents: Herman and Anomi Elder, Angie Brazzle; and one aunt, Judy Cassidy. Jessica’s wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church of Wamego. A visitation with family greeting friends will be held at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the KU Endowment (to go toward Pulmonary Hypertension patients), or to the Caring Voices Coalition, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
