James “Jim” E. Davies II, 72, died June 23, 2016, in Wichita, Kansas.
Jim was born January 15, 1944, at Genn Hospital in Wamego, Kansas, to James and Betty (Stelzner) Davies. He was a 1962 graduate from Wamego Rural High School. Jim began a banking career with Kaw Valley State Bank in 1964. In the mid 1980’s he moved to Hutchinson and started a career as a Toyota finance director then in 1990 he went to Emporia to work for the Lewis Toyota Automotive Group as their finance director. In 1993 Jim came to Wichita and became the finance director for Fleetwood Homes Corporation until his retirement in 2002.
Jim was preceded in death by father James Davies; mother Betty and stepfather Kenneth L. Anderson. Jim’s father was killed on December 16, 1944, the first day of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, and is buried in Belgium.
Jim is survived by daughter Brigette Nicole Murphree of Tennessee.
Jim and stepfather “Andy” were avid St. Louis Cardinals fans.
Jim spent his 14 years of retirement emailing friends around the country, feeding the birds and squirrels on his deck and watching 100’s of reruns of Andy Griffith, one of his favorite shows.
Jim will be buried next to his parents in Wamego and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude's Children Hospital, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547. Condolences may also be left at stewartfuneralhomes.com
