Nancy Sue Daniel, 74, a long time resident of Alma, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Divesicare of Council Grove, KS, following a lengthy illness.
Nancy was born October 29, 1941 in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Howard S. and Bernadine M. Bixby Williams. She attended schools in Shellsburg, Iowa and graduated from high school there. On December 2, 1961 in Shellsburg, Nancy was united in marriage to Bobby L. Daniel. He survives of the home.
She moved to Alma in the early 1970’s with her husband. For several years, Nancy owned and ran the Der Eisladen Ice Cream Shop in Alma for many years while also being a mother and homemaker for her family. She enjoyed being with her children and grandkids, gardening, embroidery, cooking, and crossword puzzles.
Nancy is survived by her husband Bobby of Alma, KS; two daughters: Lori Daniel, Manhattan, KS, Becky Buchanan, Alma, KS; one son, Rodney Daniel (Connie), Wichita, KS; four sisters: Betty Haefner, and Dee Kahler, both of Vinton, IA, Cheryl Kahler, Palo, IA, Sandy Johnson, Davenport, IA; one brother, Darrell Williams, Vinton, IA; three grandchildren: Britany, Kimi, and Victor. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Williams.
Graveside services in honor of Nancy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home of Alma.
