Floyd F. Huntzinger, 62, of Wamego, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan.
He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on December 26, 1946 the son of Franklin and Dorothy (Barker) Huntzinger. His family moved to Ogden in 1951. He moved to Wamego after graduating from Manhattan High School in 1964. Floyd served in the National Guard as an E5 mechanic. He later joined the local Pipefitters Union #609 in 1967. On June 26, 1971 he married Kathy Anneberg in Manhattan. Floyd owned and operated Countryside Plumbing & Heating Inc. from 1988-2005.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows since 1971 and was also a member of the American Legion Post #17 in Manhattan.
Floyd is survived by: his wife, Kathy, of the home; his son, Kurt Huntzinger and wife Brandy stationed at Incirlik AFB in Turkey; his daughter Kimberly Honeycutt and husband Daemon of St. Mary’s, Kansas; his sister Eva Mae Beckom of Ogden, KS; his brother Lloyd L. Huntzinger of Pueblo, CO; his three grandchildren Adison, Burgandy and Hailey; and his many cherished friends and loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday June 19th at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Inurnment will follow in St. George Cemetery. The family will greet friends, one hour prior to services, on Friday starting at 9 a.m. A memorial has been designated in Floyd’s name for St. George Parks and Recreation Department and may be left in care of the funeral home, P.O.
