James "Shooz" Schuman

James “Shooz” Schuman, 52, of Wamego, died unexpectedly July 15, 2009 while working in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Born on July 15, 1957 in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was the son of Charles Dale and Mary Elizabeth (Hanson) Schuman. He attended St. Matthews Catholic Grade School and later graduated from Highland Park High School. He married Joyce Moore in 1987 and the couple made their home in Wamego. Shooz was a bridge carpenter and had proudly worked with A.M. Cohron & Son Inc. since 1991. He is survived by: his wife: Joyce of the home; his daughters, Stacy Divine and her husband Brian of Wamego, KS and Morgan Schuman of Wamego, KS; his sisters, Mary Dale Looman of OK and Jeannette Simonson of Topeka, KS; and his two grandchildren, Paige and Hannah Divine. Shooz was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Nick. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday July 20th at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. The family will greet friends at a visitation from 9:30-11:00 Monday morning. Memorial’s are suggested to The James “Shooz” Schuman Memorial Fund and will be designated at a later date and given to a charity of the family’s choice.
