Charles "Ed" Rutherford

  Charles “Ed” Rutherford, 74, Louisville, KS passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, KS.   Ed was born on March 21, 1942.  He was raised on a farm in Missouri by his grandparents.  At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.  After his service, Ed moved to Oklahoma and started working on oil rigs.  He worked in various states and countries including Saudi Arabia. Ed owned his own semi truck and made several cross country runs.  After his retirement, Ed moved to Kansas and helped on wheat harvest in the summer.  He was united in marriage with Mary (Sender) Rutherford on December 13, 2003.  She survives of the home.   Cremation has taken place and no services will held per Ed’s wishes.  Sympathy cards and condolences may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
