Thomas C. Forehand, 65, Wamego, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 following a lengthy illness. He was born on Oct 2, 1951 to the late Thomas Wardell Forehand and Pearl (Etheridge) Forehand in Chicago, IL. Thomas served two tours in Vietnam and one in Desert Shield. Thomas was a former truck driver at Midwest Concrete Materials in Manhattan, KS until his retirement due to poor health. He was also a truck driver in the Chicagoland area for many years prior to his move to Kansas, and a member of the VFW Post 1786 in Manhattan, KS. He is survived by his wife, Linda Marie (Graham) and his two children Christina Marie (Raymond) Piechocki of Cortland, IL, and Thomas P. Forehand of Wamego, KS. Grandfather to Brock and Alexander Piechocki. Brother to Diane Lederer (the late Charles) of Melrose Park, IL. Gail (the late Howard) Smith of Streamwood, IL, Mary Ellen (Marcus) Carson of Bacliff, TX, and the late Nancy (the late Joseph) Burgess of Melrose Park, IL. He was uncle & great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend the brief service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd in Manhattan, KS, with a light luncheon to follow at VFW Post 1786, located at 3003 Anderson Ave, Manhattan.
