Wesley "Ed" Church

Wesley Edwin “Ed” Church, of Wamego, passed away Friday November 20, 2009 at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center. He had been a resident there for three years. Wesley was born July 31, 1916 in Oak Grove, Missouri. Wesley accomplished many feats in his life including serving as a Baptist Missionary on an Apache Indian Reservation in Arizona for five years and working at Honeywell as a machinist for ten years. He was united in marriage to Vivian (Pultz) Standish on April 27, 1984 in Mesa, Arizona. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2006. His survivors include: his adopted son Dennis Church in Washington; his step daughter, Susan Potter and her husband Robert of Wamego, KS; and his step son Steven Standish and his wife Caroline of El Cajon, CA; in addition to his wife Vivian, Wesley was also preceded in death by his adopted children, Lester and Martha Church. A Celebration of Wesley’s Life has already been held with his friends at Valley Vista. Cremation has been effected and no other formal services are planned.
