Wilma J. ”Dolly” Ireland, 80, passed away November 30, 2009 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
Dolly was born in Alma, Kansas on March 16, 1929 to Frank A. and Olga (Dieball) Heustis. She attended and graduated from Alma High School. On November 11, 1976 she married Lawrence O. Ireland. She lived 13 years in the Dwight area and moved to Topeka in 1960. She was a Broker Agent for Town & Country Realtors, Inc, later moving to Kansas City in 1981 and was then the managing broker for Bob Bollier Realtors in Leawood until 1996. She then returned to Topeka and worked for Kansas secured Title and later the State of Kansas in the Department of Labor.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence Ireland of the home; her son Kyron Johnson and his wife Susan of Derby, KS; her daughters Vikki Skinner and her husband Richard of Chicago, IL, Franci Nicks and her husband Rob of Maize, KS and Phyl LaRae Johnson of Lawrence, KS; her step-daughter Janet Beffort of Topeka, KS; her step-sons Jim Ireland and his wife Linda of Topeka, KS, Gerald Ireland and his wife Ellen of Shawnee Mission, KS and Dan Ireland of Phoenix, AZ; her 12 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A celebration of Wilma’s life will be held Thursday December 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Rosehill Senior Center Clubhouse at 3600 SW Gage in Topeka. Formal Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday December 4th at Stewart Funeral Home in Alma with the family greeting friends at a visitation one hour prior to services starting at 10:00 a.m. A memorial has been established in Wilma’s name for the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home P.O. Box 126, Alma 66401.
