Gail Larene Pauley Sedam

Gail L. Pauley Sedam, 84, a lifetime resident of Wamego and Manhattan, KS, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan. Gail Pauley Sedam was born in Wamego, KS to Jesse and Nellie (Brazzle) Cox on October 8, 1925. Gail graduated from Wamego High School in 1943. Gail married Lester B. Pauley on August 9, 1943; he preceded her in death on January 20, 1990. Gail was a homemaker and helped her husband Lester farm for 40 years. She also worked for the Abbott School Bus Company for several years and also the Manhattan Sale Barn and restaurant for several years. Gail loved to take care of roses, and her favorite thing to do was to go square dancing. She loved all her grandchildren very much and loved to care for them. Gail belonged to Eastern Star Chapter 209 of Manhattan, KS and the Black Jack Legion Auxiliary at St. George, KS. Gail is survived by her three children: Lawrence D. Pauley, of Manhattan, KS, Linda B. Day and husband Martin, of Wamego, KS, and David L. Pauley and wife Carma, of Topeka, KS; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Lester Pauley and Roy Sedam, her parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 grandson Clint Day. A visitation for Gail will take place on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego, at 10:00 a.m. until 12.00 p.m. A graveside service for Gail will follow the visitation on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 12:00 p.m., at Wamego City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Gail Sedam Memorial Fund, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
