Roy G. Currie, Jr.

Roy G. Currie, Jr.,  89 of  Westmoreland, Kansas died August 8, 2010 at Westy Community Care Home, Westmoreland, Kansas. He was born  March 26,1921 at Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Roy and Helen (Collister) Currie. Roy served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Elmore during WWII. He was a retired farm and ranch appraiser with the Federal Land Bank. Roy was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Roy was also an avid collector and world traveler. Survivors include nieces, nephews and an extended family of cousins and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Eugenia Williams and Kathleen Johnson. A Celebration of Life will be held for Roy at the VFW, Manhattan Kansas, August 21, 2010 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Roy was cremated and a private service at Carnahan Creek Cemetery will follow at a later date.
