Clarence R. Lintz, Jr.

Clarence “Junior” Lintz, Jr., 82, of Seneca, Kansas and formerly of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at Country Place Senior Living Center, Seneca. Junior was born in Wamego, on January 3, 1928, the son of Clarence R. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Straub) Lintz. He was a resident of Wamego, graduating from Wamego High School in 1946, before moving to Seneca, in 1965. He married Barbara L. Trivett on June 19, 1950, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Wamego. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2008. Junior and his wife owned and operated “Big B” grocery store in Seneca until their retirement in 1988. Junior enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. He was a craftsman and always had a great garden every year. He enjoyed being involved in his families’ lives and loved family reunions and time spent sitting with family and friends socializing. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, a son Tim and 6 brothers and sisters. Clarence is survived by his three children: Cindy Lintz, Phoenix, AZ, Diann Honeyman and husband Gary, Laramie, WY, and Tom Lintz and wife Michelle, Hiawatha, KS; 2 sisters: Bernice Weimer and Cleota Miller; 2 brothers: Larry Lintz and wife Renee and Ronnie Lintz and wife Gilda; 3 grandchildren: Lyndsi Davis and husband Scott, Kelsey Dooley and husband Steve and Wyatt Lintz; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Wamego, with burial to following at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. He will lie in-state beginning at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday August 17, 2010. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church or Abundant Life Hospice, and may be left in care Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
