Clarence Henry Herrs, 81, of Westmoreland, formerly of Marysville, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning March 4, 2007 at Westmoreland Community Care Home.
He was born and raised in Linn, Kansas, the son of George and Marie (Flomer) Herrs. He attended school at Immanuel Lutheran School, and Dupree. He later worked for numerous relatives and businesses in and around the Linn and Palmer Kansas Area. Clarence was a United States Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict. Clarence married Johanna Frese on April 18, 1954 and they made their home in Linn, Kansas. He worked at Herrs Auto and Tractor Services for 33 years. The couple retired in 2001.
His survivors include: his wife, Johanna of Westmoreland; his son Daniel Herrs and wife Lisa of Washington, KS; his daughter, Carolyn Herrs of Olathe, KS; his brother, Edwin Herrs of Westmoreland, KS; and his two grandchildren, Timothy and Elizabeth Herrs of Westmoreland, KS. Clarence was preceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Jean and his sister Selma.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday March 6th at 10:30 a.m., at the Immanuel Lutheran Church west of Linn, Kansas with burial following in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Herrs will lie in state Monday from 2-7 p.m. with visitation from 7-8:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Chapel in Westmoreland.
