Alice M. Culbertson, 88, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society-Wamego.

Alice was born December 31, 1929 at Randolph, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Lela (Chambers) Willard. She moved to St. George as a child and attended schools there, graduating from St. George High School. She married PL Culbertson on January 18, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Alice was a homemaker and loving mother to her family. She had an unconditional love and interest for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading stories, playing games or just being silly. She also enjoyed bird watching and putting up birdhouses. Her favorites were Cardinals and Hummingbirds. Turtles were her favorite pet to have. Her turtle “Tommy” traveled with her on vacations and lived for 50 years.

She is survived by her two children: her son, Jerry Culbertson (Anita) of Wamego, KS, her daughter, Brenda Zeller (Joe) of Belvue, KS; 5 grandchildren: Nicki Allen, Dustin Eichem, Heidi York, Jared Culbertson, Kelli Shannon; 11 great-grandchildren: Clint and Cole Allen, Austin and Cody Eichem, Trenton and Kohlton York, Madison and Jackson Culbertson, Kennedy, Kollyns, and Kyper Shannon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Jesse and Chuck Willard, and a sister, Betty Padget.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. during a visitation one hour prior to the memorial service. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Society- Wamego, or to Grace Hospice, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
