Barry Eugene Pierce, 60, of Wamego, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Wamego Health Care. Barry was born January 2, 1962, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the son of Pluribus “Bobby” and Betty Crosby Pierce. He attended Junction City High School. He also attended trucking school in Fort Scott, Kansas. Barry worked as a truck driver the majority of his working years. He drove mostly a milk truck and a dump truck. He loved camping and spending time at Tuttle Creek. He was known for his cooking, especially his Bar-B-Que and smoked meats. He enjoyed attending car shows and classic cars and was a K-State and Chief’s fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs. On January 25, 1992, Barry married Annette Eckart in Manhattan, Kansas. To their union, daughter Hannah Beth was born. Earlier, he married Arlene Lynch on November 17, 1984. They were later divorced. To this union, daughter Vanessa was born. He is survived by his wife, Annette, of the home; his daughters; Vanessa Parker (Kyle), Westmoreland, and Hannah Beth Pierce (Dominic Rios), Emporia; his grandchildren; Lydia Parker, Landyn Parker, and Libby Parker; and his brothers, Glenn Pierce (Connie), Sandpoint, Idaho and Billy Pierce (Kelly), Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his in- laws, Aloysius (Bub) and Winifred Eckart. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home. Father Mike Peterson will be the officiant. Barry will lie-in-state, on Monday, beginning at 4:00 pm and the family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A graveside inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Friends of Tuttle Creek State Park, and those may be sent in care of the funeral home.
