Betty Jane Wilson

Betty Jane Wilson, 95, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Paxico, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She was a long time member of the area. Betty was born on April 24, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Franklin and Nellie Clark Crews. In 1933 she was adopted by Charles and Lattie Fitch. She attended elementary school and graduated from Paxico Rural High School. She attended Washburn University and graduated with an Associate Degree. Betty was a licensed Mental Health Care Technician and worked for thirty years at Menniger’s Clinic in Topeka. Betty married Willis McCune Wilson, on October 30, 1943, in Durham, North Carolina. They operated the family farm together for 50 years. Betty and Willis attended a concentrated training program at the Morris Cerrullo School of Ministry in San Diego in 1979. Together they were the ministers for 35 years at the Topeka Revival Center. Betty traveled on two extended mission trips, one to the Philippines and one to Africa. Willis preceded her in death on November 10. 2001. Betty was a life member International Apostolic Ministries and granted a Honorary Minister Emeritus. She loved bird watching, sewing and playing the piano. She especially enjoyed playing for the residents of local nursing homes. Betty was a devout student of the Bible and was very active in the Qualified to Conquer Bible study and prayer group. Betty is survived by her children; Phyllis Cain (Kenneth), Mustang, Oklahoma, Roy Wilson (Laura), Gillette, Wyoming, Judy Meinhardt (Dan), Topeka, and Timothy Wilson (Carol), Moravian Falls, North Carolina; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Kimberly Wilson, and her siblings, Jan Stratton, Frances Rogers, and Franklin Crews, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, southeast of Paxico. Betty will lie-in-state, on Friday, beginning at 4:00 pm at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
