Brandi Nichole (Burris) Petrick was born November 25, 1990 at Benton, Arkansas, and died September 21, 2019 at Ft. Riley, Kansas. She was 28.
Brandi was a daddy’s girl who enjoyed school, socializing with her friends, summers at her grandparents’ farm, trips to the Oregon coast, Camp Mennoscah, and making hats for her beloved cat, Wizard. She loved animals and brought home many strays. Brandi was creative in the kitchen from an early age.
Throughout her life, Brandi sought meaningful connections with others. She loved decorating and making a home for her family; taking her boys to parks, trails, and area festivals; playing scary virtual reality games; and, running the Kids Obstacle Challenge with her oldest son. Brandi was licensed as a CNA, and worked in nursing homes, hospitals, and home care. She expressed great compassion for her clients. She aspired to attend Washburn Law School.
Brandi is preceded in death by her father, Charles Burris, and his parents. She was a proud boy mom to Charleston, Evan, and Ben, who survive her, along with husband Christian J. Petrick; her parents, Cynthia and Wayne Castegnaro; a sister, Skyla Major-Bosack; a brother, Michael Burris; three maternal grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Service for Brandi will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Brandi will be laid to rest at a later date in the Wamego City Cemetery.
