Calvin Wayne Myron

Calvin Wayne “Cal” Myron, 79, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Good Shepherd Hospice House. Cal was born October 3, 1941, in Torrance, California, the son of Thor C. and Hilda (Andrade) Myron. He attended grade school in California and graduated from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California. In 1963, Cal married Rosann Bonanno in Torrance, California. They had four daughters, and later divorced. Cal then married Mary Jo Mullen; they also divorced. For most of Cal’s adult life, he was a construction contractor, building both commercial and residential buildings. For many years, he owned his own construction business in Signal Hill, California. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was an avid football fan, with his long-standing team of choice being the Oakland Raiders, now the Las Vegas Raiders. Cal was an avid reader and especially enjoyed action mysteries by Clive Cluster. Upon starting retirement in Kingman, Arizona, he ultimately relocated to Manhattan where he became a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Unit 28. Cal is survived by his three daughters: Kari Myron, Trabuco Canyon, California, and her daughter, Riley Sage Beeler; Karin Hansen, St. George, and her children: Kevin, Tayler Skye, and David; and Kristin Myron Gray (Steve), Manhattan, and her daughter, Jilliann Isabella; Cal’s siblings: Roger Myron (Ninfa), Memphis, Tennessee; Mag Ross, Mission Viejo, California; and Donna Johnson, Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Cal was preceded in death by his daughter, Krista Ann, his parents, his ex-wife, Mary Jo, his sister, Frances Christensen, and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Beeler. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on September 11, 2021, from 2-4pm at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Inurnment will be held in October at Green Hills Cemetery, Palos Verdes, California.
