Carolyn Lea “Care Bear” McMasters, 48, of Westmoreland, Kansas, died Monday, July 31, 2023, at her home. Carolyn was a life-long resident of the area.
Carolyn was born on May 26, 1975, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Kevin and Peggy (Colvin) Wyffels. She attended local schools.
Carloyn worked as a Paraeducator, helping children with reading difficulties. She also served as a Sign Language interpreter. She also worked in construction as a drywall sander. Carolyn loved to play pool and darts. She enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Carolyn adored her family, especially her “babies” and there were few things that she enjoyed more than sitting around a big bonfire with friends and family. Care Bear, we love you to the moon and stars.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Kimberlea Becklund and Harper Serbus, both of Westmoreland; her mother, Peggy Wyffels, Westmoreland; her grandchildren, Ethan, Ella, Kaden, and Elise; her sisters, Rhonda Jarvis (Jimmy), St. George, Pamela Voirol (Michael), Bella Vista Arkansas, and Mary Johnson, Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and her special friend, Kevin Serbus, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Wyffels, her grandparents, William and Mary Colvin, and her cousin Jason Wyffels.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, August 7, 2023, at Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Family and friends will share stories and memories at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home to help with expenses.
