Damie Joe Shade, 90, of Wamego KS, passed away in St Clair Shores, Michigan, Monday, September 6th 2021. She was born on February 26th, 1931 in Westmoreland, KS. She was the daughter of Amos B Regnier and Eva Maude Klingensmith.
She married Wayne Shade on September 18th, 1948, he preceded her death in 2000.
Damie worked as a hairdresser in Belvue, KS in her early years and then later worked at Quality Oil in Wamego KS. She loved watching sports with the “Quality boys” and many of them became like sons to her. She cherished them immensely.
Damie had a strong love her for her family, especially her great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time playing Kings on the Corner with them. She loved animals and was also very crafty, most of her house was decorated in something she made or painted. She also had a passion for KU Basketball. March madness will never be the same as her passion for KU basketball was larger than life. Her love and respect for college basketball will forever be remembered.
Damie was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Shade, daughter Linda Calmes, and son Joseph Wayne Shade. She is survived by her daughter Debrah Deleszek, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren all of whom will miss her very dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at Wamego City Cemetery in Wamego, KS. Local arrangements are under the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
