Westmoreland, Kansas

  Delbert Wayne Prockish, 84, formerly of Louisville, Kansas, passed away on Friday (July 12, 2024) at Wellsprings of Westmoreland.

  Born December 17, 1939 in Wamego, Kansas, Delbert was the son of Leo Charles and Gertrude (Krouse) Prockish.

  Delbert previously attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served his country in the U. S. Army and had been a member of the St. George American Legion. A gifted carpenter, he loved flipping houses and taking care of his rental houses. He loved to “piddle around” and will be remembered as a “Mr. Fix It”.

  Delbert began his career as a truck driver with Eugene Prockish Trucking. He later was a truck driver with Pottawatomie County where he worked for many years until his retirement.

  He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

  Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles Leo in infancy, Eugene, Vernon and Kenneth; and three sisters, Margie Howard, Delores Fleming and Marcella Prockish.

  Funeral services will be held Friday morning (July 19, 2024) at 11:00 at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego with Fr. Michael Peterson officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the U. S. Army Funeral Honor Detail and the Wamego American Legion Post No. 172 will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Flush, Kansas.

  Visitation will be Friday morning (July 19, 2024) from 9:00 to 11:00 at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.

  Memorial contributions are requested to Wamego High School Honor Flight or Wellsprings of Westmoreland and those may be left with Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, P. O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
