Donald "Don" M. Daily

Donald M. Daily, 91, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away at his home Monday, August 6, 2018.

Don was born to Frank and Lela (Porter) Daily, south of Zeandale, Kansas on October 13, 1926. He attended schools in Kansas and Nebraska. He was a business owner, operating Daily Plumbing and Air Conditioning in Wamego.

Don married Lavina Nunn in Salina, Kansas in 1943. From this marriage a daughter Barbara and a son Daniel were born. They later divorced. He married Lena Taddeo in 1994. She preceded him in death in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his son Daniel and his siblings: Leola Meisner, Alan Daily, and Mary Lou Jenkins.

He was a member of the Wabaunsee County Historical Society, Parents without Partners, Wamego Senior Center, Lone Wrangler Square Dance Club, the Wamego Lions Club, and was a hospice volunteer in Wamego for eight years. Coaching little league baseball was one of Don's great passions. Many will remember seeing Don riding his mechanical donkey he made in many parades.

He is survived by his companion, Joan Falley, and brothers: Dean Rolfsmeyer, Carl Rolfsmeyer, and Edwin Weeks, and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9^th at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Salina, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wamego Community Garden, or the Wabaunsee County Historical Society, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
