Donald Eugene Sunnenberg

Donald E. Sunnenberg, 68, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society-Valley Vista of Wamego, following a short illness.  Donald was born on August 10, 1949 in Axtell, KS to Harry and Elizabeth (Thomas) Sunnenberg. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1967.  He was preceded in death by his son William Eugene, three brothers Henry, Vincent, and Johnny Mike Sunnenberg. Survivors include his two outstanding children Donald James Niles, Elizabethtown, KY, and Patricia Lynn Reddy, Tacoma, WA.; two sisters: Roberta Ross, Wamego, KS, Rita Chauza, Douglas, NE; and a brother, Jerry Sunnenberg, Kansas City, MO.  Donald enlisted into the US Army in July of 1968 retiring after 20 years as a SFC. Although Don was proud of his military career he was most proud of being a father.  A memorial service will be held at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego on Friday November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A private burial service will be held at Fort Riley Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
