Donna Kay Fechter

  Donna Kay Fechter, 71, Belvue, KS passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Kindred Hospital Northland in Kansas City, MO.   On November 17, 1945, Donna was born to Claude and Mina (Lemarr) Bledsoe in Wamego, KS.  She attended Wamego grade school and graduated from Wamego High School in 1964.  She was united in marriage with Ronald Wayne Fechter on June 18, 1966 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego, KS.  He survives of the home.   Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren when she was able.  She enjoyed sewing, and made the wedding dress and prom dresses for her daughter.  She also enjoyed each of her dogs, singing, and country western music.  Donna made calendars from family photos on her computer and was a Mary Kay representative and sold home interior items for several years.  Donna was also a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.   She is also survived by her three children, Bryan Fechter (Chris), Gulf, CA, Tami Pearl (Mike), St. Marys, KS, and Brad Fechter (Amber), Belvue, KS; a sister, Darlene Capps (Tom), Mercer Island, WA; seven grandchildren, Gavin, Evan, Sallie, Ariana, Dallin, Justin, and Matthew; three step-grandchildren, Allie, Briana, and Colton.   She is preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Richards, and a granddaughter, Natalie.   Funeral Mass for Donna will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego.  Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery.  Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.  As per Donna’s wishes, the casket will be closed.  Memorials are suggested to St. Bernard Catholic Church, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
