Donna Mae Hudson, 84, Wamego, KS passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Vintage Park in Wamego.

  On January 13, 1935, Donna, was born to Melvin and Lucille (Schutter) Schanefelt in McFarland, KS.  Donna graduated from Alma High School in 1953.  She worked as a cook for Kappa Kappa Gamma at Kansas State University for several years before becoming a house mom and cook for Delta Tau Delta for 25 years.  She then worked for Wamego Senior Center until her retirement.  She was united in marriage with Elton “Jean” Hudson on January 1, 1953 in Alma, KS. He preceded her in death in 1994.

  Donna had several hobbies including sewing, needlework, gardening, farming and spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed playing cards and trips to the casino with her friends.  She was a member of the Louisville Methodist Church, Rebekah’s, and taught knitting for the Blackjack 4H Club.

  She is survived by four children, Pamela Ragan (Dennis), Eagle River, WI, Shelly Vigoren, Manhattan, KS, Larry Hudson (Jolene), Wamego, KS, and Todd Hudson (Mary), Wamego, KS; two sisters, Karen Smith (Willard), Topeka, KS and Alice Degood (Hollis), Cedar Rapids, IA; six grandchildren, Michael Hudson, Darren Hudson, Brian Kemnitz, Kristen Allen, Duane Quintanilla, and Nicky Burton; two step-grandchildren, Jacob Beatty and Jill Olson; seven great-grandchildren, Hudson, Lydia, Kelsey, Kayden, Kinsey, Lorelai and Lucas; and six step-great-grandchildren, Paige, Claire, Cameron, Tyler, Jackson and Eloise.

  She is also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Melba Rush.

  A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.  Inurnment will follow in the Wamego City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Vintage Park at Wamego, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
