  Edith Pauline Hernandez, 90, born on February 6, 1935, in St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas.

  Pauline dedicated her life to caring for her home while supporting her husband, Nate Hernandez Jr., who served in the Air Force for 20 years. The couple shared a loving partnership for 68 years before Nate's passing in 2022.

  She and Nate enjoyed spending their time supporting the VFW Post 9174 in San Antonio, Texas, and traveling by bus to nearby states on casino trips.

  Pauline is survived by her nephew and caregivers Rev. Rick Hernandez and Julie of Wamego, Kansas; Nate’s brother, Frank Hernandez; Pauline’s sister, Betty Holland; Pauline’s sister-in-law, Mary Hernandez; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother Leroy, who is still Missing in Action in Vietnam. Pauline will be remembered fondly for her warmth and devotion to family.
