Edith Marie Rawson

  Edith M. Rawson, 83, of Wamego, KS passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her home.   On August 20, 1933, Edith was born to John and Martha (Martens) Casper in Flush, KS.  She attended Wamego Schools.  She was united in marriage with Robert Rawson on March 1, 1953.  He survives of the home.   Edith enjoyed knitting, cooking, crafts and sewing.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Edith was a member of the Daughters of Rebekah.   She is also survived by her sons, Robert “Jim” Rawson, Wamego, KS, and Dr. Larry Rawson (Marcie), Kailua, HI; daughters, Susan Pickett (Kirk), and Linda Burgess (Bradley), all of Wamego; grandchildren, Cameo Robinson (Ryan), Meagan Minneman (Scott), Dr. Charlie Rawson (Rachelle), Mason Burgess (Elizabeth), and Laura Burgess; three great-grandchildren and another expected in September; brothers, John Casper, Wamego, and Ralph Casper and Jerry Casper, Manhattan, KS; sisters, Gertrude Schweir, Belvue, KS, and Annette Peterson, Wamego; sister-in-laws, Marjorie Rawson, Topeka, KS, and Jo Ott, Walworth, WI; and many nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Johanna Gering.   Private services may be held at a later date.  The family has suggested memorial contributions to Homecare & Hospice, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
