Franklin "Frank" Gale Trudo, 83, of Wamego, KS passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society, Valley Vista in Wamego.
Frank was born May 26, 1935 in Wamego, the son of Albert L. and Delia A. (Lindeman) Trudo. He attended Wamego schools, graduating from Wamego High School. On October 21, 1953 he married Martina "Tina" Elder in Wamego, KS.
Frank began his work career as a 4th generation Pottawatomie County farmer. A few years after graduating high school and starting a family he became involved with the auto parts business working for M-Catch and Company in Topeka and later Temp and Company Auto Parts in Emporia. He later went to work at TG&Y in Overland Park before returning in 1970 to the Belvue area where he worked for area feedlot operators and Wamego Farmers Coop. He went on to work for Dymax in Wamego and finally was able to do what he always wanted and began farming the Trudo home place again. He did this until his retirement in 1998.
Frank will be forever remembered as a hard worker with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, yardwork, playing cards and dancing with Tina. Together they also enjoyed camping and attending their grandchildren's sporting events and school programs. He was a member of the Wamego Volunteer Fire Department.
His is survived by his wife, Tina, of Wamego, one daughter, Debbie (Jim) Hipp, Albuquerque, NM; and three sons: Scott Trudo (Wamego), Chris (Diana) Trudo (Wamego) and Ron (Rhonda) Trudo (Manhattan), eight grandchildren: Lance (Sara) Trudo, Brett (Ashley) Trudo, Ryan (Julie) Trudo, Jessica (Thomas) Trudo, Eric Hipp, Adam Hipp, Brice Trudo and Lane (Madison) Trudo, three great-grandchildren: Brynn Trudo, Hunter Trudo and Daniel Trudo. He was preceeded in death by his parents and his siblings, John Trudo and Roberta Magnett.
Services will include a visitation with family Wednesday, January 30th from 6:30-8:00 pm, and funeral service Thursday, January 31st at 11:00 am - both at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Pottawatomie County Caring Hearts Animal Shelter or Good Samaritan Society Valley Vista, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
