Gale Ault Krietemeyer, 95, Topeka, KS passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born November 12, 1921 at the family farm home, the daughter of Grover and Helen (Drake) Ault. This was the edge of the beautiful Flint Hills northwest of Belvue. She graduated elementary school from the White Chapel School building which is now preserved in the Wamego City Park. Gale graduated from the Wamego Consolidated Rural High School in 1940. She attended Kansas State University for 2 ½ years after being awarded a Carl Raymond Gray Union Pacific Scholarship in Pottawatomie County for accomplishments in 4-H. One scholarship was awarded each year to one FFA student and one 4-H member in every county through which the Union Pacific passed. In more recent years, she attended Washburn University. Gale married Bill H. Krietemeyer on December 12, 1942 at her parents’ farm home. They celebrated 50 years of marriage with family and friends. He preceded her in death in April 2000. Several years were spent at Atria Hearthstone West in Topeka where she was active in Resident Council and the daily programs. She has been a member of Laclede Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church, and Southwest Baptist Church, and always taught in Sunday school. Gale was employed by the Texas Board of Agriculture in their experimental station on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas when her husband was stationed at Bryan Air Field during WWII. Later, she babysat for other working mothers. She was also preceded in death by a baby daughter, Amy Elizabeth and her twin brother, Edgar Dale Ault. Survivors are a son, David Krietemeyer (Joy); two granddaughters, Audrea Cozadd (Vincent), and Erica Boos; three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Boos, and Jacquelyn and Trenton Cozadd; a sister-in-law, Waunita Ault; and five nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Family, friends and her husband’s relatives were special to her. Graveside services for Gale will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Wamego City Cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour before the service at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.
