Ida Louise (Ward) Zarger passed away June 3, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.

  Ida Lou was born November 17, 1928 in Manhattan, KS to Delbert B. and Florence M. (Hunter) Ward and attended Manhattan schools. Ida married Perry Zarger on November 17, 1946 in Tonganoxie, KS.  He preceded her in death on March 4, 2005.  They lived in many locations during Perry's construction career where Ida devoted her time to raising their 4 children.  After the children were grown, she worked various occupations including cleaning apartments, working in retail and delivering floral arrangements.

  She is survived by their children Duane (Sandy) Zarger, Gene (Dixie) Zarger, Pam (Kipp) Smith and Angie (Jack) Phillips; 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Marjorie “Marge” Cooley, brother Alvin “Lud” Ward; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

  In addition to her parents and Perry she was preceded in death by siblings Robert “Bob” Ward, Harold “John” Ward, Irene “Rene” Hodges and Delbert “Tick” Ward.

  A visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.  Monday, June 17, 2019 at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego, KS with a graveside service immediately following in St. George Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to a Native American charity or charity of your choice, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
