Jerry Alan Blackford, 48, of Louisville, KS, passed away at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born November 11, 1970 in Kansas City, MO, to his parents, Jerry W. and Donna Sue (O'Connor) Blackford, and moved to Wamego with his family in 1977. Jerry attended Wamego schools and graduated from Wamego High School.
Jerry worked at many different jobs in the area, but mostly worked as a cook at the Friendly Cooker in Wamego.
His survivors include his common-law wife and companion of over 20 years, Karen Debra Harvey, of the home; one son, Jared Beatty; a brother, Bob Blackford, Belvue, KS; one sister, Kathy Blackford, Wamego, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service for Jerry will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Cowboy Country Church-Wamego. Memorials are suggested to the Cowboy Country Church-Wamego, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
