Jesse Roy Estes

May 19, 1938 — February 3, 2024

Jesse Roy Estes, 85, widower of Shaila Jean Estes, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born May 19, 1938 in Manhattan, Kansas, he was the son of the late Alvin Leroy and Effie Eliz Smith Estes. Jesse served in the United States Army, the US Army Reserve, and the Kansas National Guard. Jesse was also a therapist with Pawnee Mental Health, worked for the United States Postal Service, and was a farmer. In his younger years he worked for KABSU, a division of the College of Animal Science at KSU. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederates Veterans, Kansas Society of 110th Ordnance Co., International Order of Oddfellows, Wamego, Kansas, Manhattan Coin Club, and the St. George Kansas American Legion. 

Jesse will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Barry (Angel) Estes, Corinne UT, Chuck (Melissa) Estes, Knox, IN, daughter, Jessica (Darin) Willard, Stamping Ground, KY, sister, Linda Pears, Chandler, AZ, many grandchildren and    great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Roberta Kay Estes. 
Jesse will be interred in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery near Fort Riley, Kansas, alongside him will be his wife, Shaila to be in eternity together.
