Jesse Rayford Henson, 45, Manhattan, KS passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 in Kansas City, KS.
On July 19, 1972, Jesse was born in Phoenix, AZ. After graduating from Holbrook High School in Holbrook, AZ Jesse enlisted in the United States Army where he served 3 tours in Iraq and retired as a Sergeant. Following his military service, Jesse worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Coconino County Sheriff’s Department for 5 years. . He worked in the patrol unit then transferred to Search and Rescue. He was then employed for Westar Energy as an Operation Supervisor at Jeffery Energy Center near St. Mary’s, KS. He was united in marriage with Kelli Linn Most on June 30, 2011. She survives of the home.
Jesse was an adventurist. He enjoyed working on the Search & Rescue team and being in the outdoors. . He also loved riding motorcycles, mountain biking, hiking, RZR riding in Moab Utah and spending time with his two dogs Delilah and Scarlett.
He is also survived by a son, Dorian Henson of Arizona; three siblings, Shepard Henson, Casey Stone (Patrick), and Nicole Barrett, all of Arizona; grandmother, Barbara Henson of Arizona; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jesse Henson, and mother, Robin Rae Barrett
A Celebration of Life with military honors for Jesse will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Visitation will be Friday, June 8th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
