John Henry Brazzle, 84, of Wamego, KS passed away Friday, August 23, 2019.  John was born September 11, 1934, the son of Walter and Georgetta (Johnston) Brazzle.  He was the sixth of nine children.

  He was united in marriage to Angela “Angie” Rose Umscheid on May 5, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flush, KS.  She preceded him in death.  They shared over 44 years together and were the parents of 5 children.  John worked for Bill and Doug Kaine for over 40 years and after his retirement went to work for the Co-Op, as well as working many odd jobs for area farmers.  In his spare time, he enjoyed stamp, coin and train collecting, country music, and going to the casino.

  Survivors include his two sons, Jim Brazzle (Sandy), and Rick Brazzle (Brenda), all of Wamego, KS; three daughters, Donna Akin (Tony), Zeandale, KS, Connie Prockish (David), Louisville, KS, and Suzanne Manly (Allan), Wamego, KS; nine grandchildren, Jared and Nicole Brazzle, Wamego, KS, Scott Brazzle, Dodge City, KS, Luke and Lauren Brazzle, Wamego, KS, Monica and Tyler Ward, Wamego, KS, Casey Akin, Topeka, KS, Chelsea Prockish, Louisville, KS, Marshall and Cheyenne Manly, Wamego, KS, Darren Prockish, Louisville, KS, and Samantha Akin, Harveyville, KS; six great-grandchildren, Peyton and Gavin Brazzle, Bennett and Brooks Brazzle, and Kitra and Kree Ward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings June, Wilma, Darlene, Elmer, Bob, Dean, Willie, and Shirley, and one grandchild, Jessica Brazzle.

  Visitation for John will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.  Private inurnment will take place at a later date at the St. Bernard Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to the Community Health Ministry or St. Bernard Catholic Church, and may be left in the care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
