Karen Sue Eichman

May 6, 1942 — October 12, 2022

Karen “Sue” Eichman, age 80 of Georgetown, TX, passed away on October 12, 2022.  She was born on May 6, 1942, in Westmoreland, KS to Clarence R. and Aldena M. (Noland) Scott.    

Sue grew up on a farm and attended Westmoreland High School graduating in 1960.  She married Patrick C. Ebert in 1961 and worked with Pat and his brother, Jim, for many years at Ebert Construction Co. in Wamego, KS.  They had two daughters, Kim, and Kelli. 

Sue founded Kansas Farm and Home Real Estate in the 1980s and was a licensed real estate appraiser.  She was active in the Wamego Chamber of Commerce and a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.  She married Wilfred “Ike” Eichman in 1989 and they enjoyed many years of traveling, fishing, and spending time with their friends, children, and grandchildren. 

Sue and Ike later moved to Georgetown, TX (Sun City), where Sue made many close friends, was active in the book, gaming, and travel clubs, and served as her neighborhood block captain.  She especially enjoyed her extensive travels all over the world.  She was also a regular volunteer at The Caring Place Thrift Shop and a member of Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Florence, TX.  Sue’s energy and spark for life will be greatly missed. 

Sue is survived by two daughters:  Kim Myer and husband Bob of Boerne, TX, and Kelli Klauber and husband Adam of Chicago, IL; four grandsons:  Trey and Scott Myer, and Jack and Drew Klauber.  She is also survived by one sister:  Ila Mae Frank and husband DeWayne of Westmoreland, KS.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wilfred “Ike” Eichman.   

The celebration of Sue’s life will include a reception in Georgetown, TX on October 19, 2022. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. with a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Inurnment will take place in the Wamego City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wamego Community Foundation Scholarship Fund or The Caring Place in Georgetown, TX and left in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
