Karline Leslee Weiss, 73, of Wamego, Kansas passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Wamego Health Center.
Karline was born in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, on July 16, 1944, the daughter of Lester and Leoda Margaret (Fox) Hamilton. She was raised in Arnold, Missouri, where she graduated in 1962 from Fox High School. She then attended Miss Hickey’s Business School in St. Louis, Missouri, and began work as a legal secretary for law firms in the St. Louis area. She married Gerald “Jerry” Weiss on August 6, 1966 in Arnold, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Jerry and Karline moved to Wamego in 1974. She managed the office at their family business, Flory-Weiss Dairy Equipment, for many years. Karline raised three sons, was a caregiver for her mother in her final years, and was a loving grandmother. She especially enjoyed time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Weiss of Wamego; three sons: Jeffery Weiss of Perry, KS, Bryan Weiss (Erin) of Lenexa, KS, Brad Weiss (Min) of Gwangju, South Korea; two grandchildren, Maggie and Myles, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents (Lester and Leoda) and her brother, Robert.
Karline will be buried in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery of St. Louis with a private graveside service held June 28, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Community Health Ministry of Wamego, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
