Katherine "Katie" Towle Glynn, 91, formerly of Wamego, KS, died Thursday, May 3, at the Healthcare Resort of Topeka.

Katie was born Aug. 3, 1926 in Scranton, Kansas, the daughter of Frank D. and Ettawells Duncan Towle.  Katie attended country grade schools in Osage County.  She graduated from Carbondale High School in 1944.  She was employed by Hallmark Greeting Card Company, Topeka, McCall Pattern Company, Manhattan, and St. Bernard Catholic Church, Wamego.

Katie was a member of Mater Dei Catholic Church, Topeka, and former member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Wamego, for over 60 years.  Katie married Thomas Omer "Buddy" Glynn, Sr. at Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka, Jan. 24, 1950.  He preceded her in death on March 26, 2002.

As branch manager at McCall Pattern Company in Manhattan, Katie credited learning many of her business supervisory and interpersonal skills as a homemaker and mother of six children, a full-time job she held for 18 years.

Katie enjoyed genealogical research at the Wamego Public Library and at the Kansas Historical Society State Archives in Topeka.  She compiled several volumes with many details of Towle and Glynn relatives.  She also compiled a Short History of Those Buried in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, which helped organize and fill in many gaps in records over the last century.

She is survived by six children:  Anne Glynn Kolbek and spouse Rick, Topeka; Thomas O. Glynn Jr. and wife Janet, Wamego; Earl F. Glynn and wife Karen, Olathe; Jean L. Figge, Blue Rapids; Paula M. Smith and husband Ken, Topeka; William J. Glynn and wife Diane, Topeka.  Thirteen grandchildren:  Sarah, Ben and Cy Foltz; Thomas Glynn III, Daniel Glynn, and Jenny Blaske; Brian Glynn and Megan Hammons; Kristen Bauerly and Alicia Wilcox; Erin and Stephanie Sevatson; Brynne Schellenger.  Fifteen great-grandchildren.   She is also survived by two siblings, James Towle and wife Bertie, Fairview, OK, and Peggy Foster, Carbondale.  Katie was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Helen Foresman and Judge Francis Towle
