Kevin Thomas Knutson, age 64, passed away on December 29, 2024, in Wamego, Kansas.
He was born on February 8, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Patt Buttermore and Connie White, he was adopted at birth by Herbert and Helen Knutson.
Kevin married Deborah Karsmizki on July 1, 1983, to this union three children were born, they were later divorced. In the year 2000 he met his significant other Donette Carter, together they shared almost 25 loving years, she survives of the home.
A graduate of Kansas State University, Kevin pursued his passion for architecture. He later built a fulfilling career working at Karsmizki Locksmith, where he was known for his dedication and skill.
He had a deep appreciation for hot rod cars, enjoyed smoking food and meat, and, when he was younger, took pleasure in guns and hunting. Kevin was ornery yet jolly, he had a unique way of lighting up a room with his presence and humor.
He is survived by his biological mother, Connie (White) Heffron; significant other, Donette Carter; and his beloved children: sons Kerry (Patricia) Knutson and Kelly (Jennifer) Knutson, along with daughter Kacy (Tom) Fairhurst. Kevin also cherished his bonus children, Amie (Lonnie) Overstreet and Eric Carter. He is further survived by his half-siblings: Kim Saunders, Bruce Buttermore, Jackie Heffron, Mark Heffron, Jay Heffron, and Kenny Heffron. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Rhea Knutson, Alli Record, Devin Record, Robert Record, Nicole Hart, Caiden Hart, Cain Hart, Kerry Jr. Knutson, and Theo Knutson, Lily Dulaney. Each of them carries forward a piece of Kevin's spirit and love.
Kevin was preceded in death by his biological father, Pat Buttermore, and his adoptive parents, Herbert and Helen Knutson.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Thursday January 2, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego, Kansas.
The funeral service will take place the following day, Friday January 3, 2025, at 11 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
