Kristine Louise Franklin, age 64, passed away in Wamego, KS on May 25, 2023. Kristine was born on December 31, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington. She married Martin David Franklin on February 12, 1983 in Ft. Collins, CO.
Kris was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Kris graduated from Biola University with a degree in communications and a minor in biblical studies. She and her husband served as missionaries for three years in Latin America before moving to Hibbing, MN where they raised their family. She also authored award-winning children’s books, cohosted two television series for EWTN, and worked as a Catholic writer, speaker, radio host and podcaster. Her many hobbies included photography, fiber arts, baking, autoharp, tending her aquatic pets, and laughing hard at British comedy. But her deepest love and passion was for her Catholic faith and her family.
Kris is survived by her husband of forty years, Marty, and their children Kelly (Jessica) Franklin and Jody (Devin) Weis; grandchildren Gianna Franklin and Andrew and Clara Weis; siblings Ben (Jeanne) Brozovich, Lucy (Mel) Richter, Linda (Tom) Wirshup; many nieces, nephews, and friends. We miss her dearly and entrust her to the Living God.
